I have been ENORMOUSLY BLESSED by the Holy Spirit working through Alana! She helps me more than I could ever express in words! Thank You, God, for shining through Alana in BEAUTIFUL ways!
I am grateful that God's Spirit is seen through Jeremiah. He is not only working with excellence right up to the end with his school work, but he is also showing beautiful, Christ-like character through it all! Thank You, God, for such a godly young man as a son!
For quite some time now, I have been praying "differently." Yes, when Larissa was in Africa, I prayed for the villagers, (and yes, I cried as I prayed), but after Larissa came home from Africa, these "villagers" suddenly had names. Then, shortly after that, when I saw their pictures, they suddenly had faces. Since seeing their precious faces, it has penetrated my soul deeper and deeper that these faces are REAL people with REAL souls with a REAL eternity! Where will they spend it? More and more I was sensing the deep call to PRAY an eternity with Christ into their lives. Then, just the other day, Larissa printed out a couple of the pictures for me. NOW, when I pray for these precious souls that live all the way in Africa, I am able to lay hands on them! It's so interesting how God works, Before Larissa went to Africa, I did not give these people as much thought as I should have. While she was there, I prayed for nameless, faceless people. After she came home, they were no longer nameless. After viewing their pictures, they were no longer faceless. And now, they have become like family! And I'm anticipating a "family reunion" some day in Heaven with these precious people, with whom I have never even met, but have fallen in love with!
The end is in sight for the school year! Jeremiah is finishing strong! God, help him to continue to glorify You right to the end!
I was so sick yesterday. Last night, Alana led our family in Family Devotionals. What God laid on her heart to share was the perfect encouragement for what I was feeling. I am grateful!
Several days ago, Larissa attended a get together with the team members that went to Africa. The group is a WONDERFUL group, and I am so happy that she has developed community with them and that they all developed community with the villagers in Africa! They all are loved dearly, and it has been difficult when it is time to separate.
We were created for community. God created us in His image, and He has community within the Trinity of Himself. I truly believe it hurts so much when we are separated from community because God put the deep need for community right into our DNA!
I absolutely LOVE listening to the stories of how the villagers in Africa live their lives in community! THEY may not have "everything" that WE (in the United States) consider a privilege to have, but they have something deeper. They have each other. I never went on a physical missions trip to Africa, but I do see the rich joy in community.
And I see the pain when one who did go to Africa is separated from it.
I would NOT be able to leave a legacy and do all the ministry work that I do without the TREMENDOUS help of my husband! Greg also has the gift of helps...and he helps me GREATLY! PRAISE GOD! :)
I've been working SOOO hard making the websites more user-friendly. My prayer is that God leads the people that HE knows needs to read these sites to the sites...TO EXPAND HIS KINGDOM AND BRING HIM GLORY!!!!
I am learning to lean on Him to accomplish all that I have to do in ministry. There's SOOOO MUCH that needs to be done...and sooooo little time. I am learning how to listen to what HE wants me to do at any given moment to accomplish HIS will. HE KNOWS BEST!
