You have been SOOOO on my heart as I desired to pray you through your last full day and your last night in the village. A perfect Scripture for your last full day and your last night in the village is:
English Standard Version
You keep [------] in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because [s]he trusts in You.
It has been an extremely painful time for me wondering if it has been an extremely painful time for YOU! :(
However, God showed up in an interesting way.
God, in His mercy, gave me an interesting perspective on your last day in the village. It was 3:16pm your time, and I prayed the "John 3:16" prayer for the villagers of ------.
New International Version
For God so loved the [villagers of ------] that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Although I pray that prayer up to four times a day (am and pm for both continents as I am able), God reminded me that you have been there, in ------, for the purpose of the villagers' salvation. Then He reminded me that it is by His grace that we all (including the villagers) are saved (Ephesians 2:8)...and it is His grace that is getting you through the sad and painful village goodbyes.
The bottom line is that it is His grace that led you there to ------, His grace that saves the villagers of ------ (and all of us), and His grace that will hug your hurting heart as He allows you to transition away from ------...all while you are still living in the center of His will for your life.
That has truly transformed my perspective on your last full day in the village that you have grown to love and cherish! :)
I am NOT saying it is easy or not painful for you (or for me - for that matter...it IS painful); but, I AM saying that God's grace is bigger than the emotions of sadness and grief and His grace is bigger than the humanness and perspective of "the moment." His ways are not our ways. His ways are higher than our ways.
Carefully read what I sense is God's personal Word to you for "this moment":
Portions from Isaiah 55:4-13 (The Message)
I set him up as a witness to the nations...
And...I’m doing it to you [setting you up as a witness to the nation of ------]...
Because of me, your God...”
6-7 Let them [the villagers of ------ and all the villages that you have been sent as a witness to] come back to God, who is merciful,
come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.
8-11 “I don’t think the way you [or your mom] think.
The way you [and your mom] work isn’t the way I work.”
“For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you [and your mom] work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you [and your mom] think.
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies
and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom,
producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth [to the villagers of ------ through you]
not come back empty-handed.
They’ll do the work [the beautiful and fruitful work] I sent them to do [through you],
they’ll complete the assignment I gave them [as you have now completed the assignment I have given you at this time].
12-13 “So you’ll go out [of the village of ------] in joy,
you’ll be led into a whole and complete life [through the path of transition I have you on at this time].
The mountains and hills will lead the parade,
bursting with song.
All the trees of the forest will join the procession,
exuberant with applause [at what I have done through your willingness to be My witness to the villagers of ------ over the last ten months].
No more thistles, but giant sequoias,
no more thornbushes, but stately pines--
Monuments to Me, to God,
living and lasting evidence of God [in your moments of uncomfortable transition and in your completion of what I have called you to in this season of your life].”
I pray that you sense God's incredible peace as you settle into bed and sleep in the loving, comforting embrace of your Heavenly Father, knowing that "the LORD takes pleasure in [you]; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds." (Psalm 149:4-5)
I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
